When we ask who is responsible, as does the movie, "Supersize Me", it is easy to blame the fat people themselves, because they have surrendererd to their environments telling them to eat and drink junk food, but so are the manufacturers and marketers of McDonald's, Coke, and the like. We all have some responsibility for this atrocity against what makes us human when the body is violated in so horrific a manner, but the worst blasme everyone else: Coke and Kellogs sugar frosted fruit loops, Nabisco, Nestle and their kind all use the Neuremberg defense, "We are just following ordere (from the market place)" and "In a free society, people are responsible for what they choose to buy and we are not responsible for what we sell because market forces and democracy make our need for conscience obsolete." If you sell that soft drink or KFC, you are enabling this horrible disease and perversion and you are a participant in it. The question is for each of us, "Where do I stand? Do I support this tragidy by buying that product made by the merchants of obesity or do I do my duty to the human race by boycotting those mercghants who are evil enough to support and encourage it?' "What kind of example do I set with my eating and exercise habits?"
