Berjaya Times Square:
This giant Mall has the Gross Leasable Area of 700,000 m2 (7,500,000 sq ft) which makes it the World’s largest mall, situated in Imbi, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir bin Muhammad in October 2003. This Mall is a twin tower complex and both towers are 203 meters (666 ft) tall, with 48 floors. This Mall has another plus point that it has Asia’s largest indoor theme park. It is also the world’s largest building ever built in just a single phase of construction and 5th largest building in the world by floor area. South China Mall:
The second largest Mall located in Dongguan, China opened in 2005 is still largely unoccupied. This 7.1 million square feet large Mall has 1500 number of stores and services, many are still empty. The main cause of severe lack of occupants is that this mall is located in the suburbs of the city so no one can travel there without a car. The total retail floor area of this Mall is 659,612 m², which makes it the second largest Mall in the world. It has the second Gross Leasable Area in the world.
Golden Resources Mall:
Located in Fourth Ring Road Beijing (Peking), China, The Golden Resources Mall or Jin Yan is the world’s third largest mall with Gross Leasable Area of 6.5 million square feet. The mall was completed on 20 October, 2004 after 20 months of construction and opened four days later. It has the Total retail floor area of 557,419 m² and the 1000+ number of stores and services. Golden Resources has not attracted a large foreign crowd yet once again the root is its location. It is estimated that the mall would have 50,000 shoppers a day, as of 2004 the actual number was far smaller, as few as 20 in an hour. It takes about two days to explore with 230 escalators, more than 1,000 shops, and restaurant space the size of two football fields. The mall has earned the nickname “Great Mall of China”.
SM City North EDSA:
SM City North EDSA is situated in EDSA, North Avenue, Quezon City, Philippines. Its total Gross Leasable Area is 460,000 m² (5,000,000 square feet). It is the Philippine’s largest mall. It is located at the intersection of North Avenue and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Quezon City. Construction of SM City North EDSA was started in 1983 and was opened in November 29, 1985. It has More than 1100 shops number of stores and services including 400 dining establishments. The number of floors is 15 which include 4 floors (main mall), 5 floors (The Block), 6 floors (SM Annex). It has Parking of more than 10,000 cars. The mall has the maximum capacity of 6.6 million people. The mall attracts almost 4.4 million visitors on weekends and 1,000,000 to 2,100,000 visitors on weekdays.
SM Mall of Asia:
SM Mall of Asia located in Bay City, Pasay City, Philippines, opened in May 21, 2006 with the Gross Leasable Area of 4.2 million square feet is ranked on the world’s fifth largest Mall in the world. Its Total retail floor area is 390,193 m². It has 600 shops and 150 dining establishments. It has 2 floors for the Main and Entertainment Malls, 5 for the North and 8 for South Parking Buildings. The mall attracts daily foot traffic of 200,000 people and it has capacity of the Parking of 8,000 cars.
