Di Vinci Code (2003)

Di Vinci Code is a movie based on the novel by Dan Brown and is directed by Ron Howard; Due to its anti-Catholic elements, like Dan Brown’s book, movie was harshly criticized by the Roman Catholic Church,some church members urged the laity to boycott the film;Da Vinci Code earned in excess of $230 million worldwide in its opening weekend, which, at that time, was the third most profitable opening weekend in film history. It is currently ranked as the seventh biggest opening.

Passion of The Christ (2004)

Based on New Testament accounts arrest, trial, torture, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Passion of Christ is one of the most controversial movies of the modern age and it is also the highest grossing non-English movie ever; Passion of Christ was a film directed, co-written and co-produced by acclaimed Hollywood artist Mel Gibson, it created great deal of controversy among Jews as they accused movie of being anti-semtic,it was banned in some middle eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Zeitgeist (2007)

Touching controversial issues of Christianity, 9/11 and Federal Reserve Bank, Zeitgeist: The movie gained huge popularity among movie lovers especially internet users as it was first released on internet; Zeitgeist was inspired by ideas of Jacque Fresco and The Venus project, it was directed, produced and written by Peter Joseph.

Farenheit 9/11 (2004)

Directed by Michael Moore, Fahrenheit 9/11 was well researched documentary movie based on incidents related to Bush’s controversial election in 2000-01, 9/11, invasion of Iraq and other related issues; Michael Moore was somehow successful in convincing people about his ideas pertaining to 9/11 and Bush’s election because of his extensive research on this topic.
The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)

The last Temptation of Christ is based on the idea that person like Jesus Christ can also be subject to temptations like lust,depression,doubt,fear and sex etc which are faced by normal humans; The last Temptation of Christ was heavily criticized by religious Christian leaders due to its controversial plot about the life and ideas of Jesus Christ ,it was directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Barbara De Fina.
