Di Vinci Code is a movie based on the novel by Dan Brown and is directed by Ron Howard; Due to its anti-Catholic elements, like Dan Brown’s book, movie was harshly criticized by the Roman Catholic Church,some church members urged the laity to boycott the film;Da Vinci Code earned in excess of $230 million worldwide in its opening weekend, which, at that time, was the third most profitable opening weekend in film history. It is currently ranked as the seventh biggest opening.
Passion of The Christ (2004)
Based on New Testament accounts arrest, trial, torture, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Passion of Christ is one of the most controversial movies of the modern age and it is also the highest grossing non-English movie ever; Passion of Christ was a film directed, co-written and co-produced by acclaimed Hollywood artist Mel Gibson, it created great deal of controversy among Jews as they accused movie of being anti-semtic,it was banned in some middle eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain.
