20 percent of Americans Pee in Pool

According to a survey conducted by Water Quality and Health Council back in 2009, 1 in 5 Americans pee in swimming pool(OH MY GOD!!).

Some of the other findings of the survey are

• About one-third (35 percent) say they don’t shower before entering the pool.
• 63 percent were unaware of illnesses associated with swallowing, breathing or having contact with contaminated pool water.
• Less than one quarter consider the frequency of pool cleaning and chemical treatment (23 percent) and even less (16 percent) think about chlorine levels to maintain clean pool water.

I am dead sure now you won’t wonder about the origin of warm spots in the pool.:)

1 in 8 Americans is over-weight

30 years ago 1 in 25 Americans was overweight. Now, 1 in 8 is.Reasons are obvious but worth mentioning,Americans today eat almost 500 more calories per day on average than they did in the 1970s ,
The average American walks a little less than 300 yards in a week.
According to an estimate 83 percent of American men will be overweight or obese by 2020. Women are right behind them, with 72 percent projected to be overweight or obese by then. The number of people who have diabetes or are pre-diabetic is also projected to increase, from 6.3 percent and 37 percent of women to 8.3 percent and 44 percent.

World’s 2nd Largest Single Emitter of Carbon Dioxide

According to U.S. Department of Energy, American are responsible for 23 percent of energy-related carbon emissions worldwide.Americans are only 5 percent of the world’s population, but consume 26 percent of the world’s energy. Only China beats US in carbon dioxide emission race.

Americans have Average IQ of 98

According to international IQ charts, the United States rates 18 behind other nations in average intellectual levels. At the top is Hong Kong at 107; South Korea, 106; Japan, 105; Taiwan andSingapore, 104; Austria, Germany, Italy and The Netherlands, 102;Sweden and Switzerland at 101; Belgium, China, New Zealand and the United Kingdom at 100; Hungary, Poland and Spain at 99.

According to the experts these numbers could be much better, especially in the United States where educational opportunities have been rated as best, and our universities have excelled for years.

High Crime Rate

Look at these shocking facts. one murder every 22 minutes, one rape every 5 minutes, one robbery every 49 seconds, and one burglary every 10 seconds. And the cost of crime continues to mount: $78 billion for the criminal justice system, $64 billion for private protection, $202 billion in loss of life and work, $120 billion in crimes against business, $60 billion in stolen goods and fraud, $40 billion from drug abuse, and $110 billion from drunk driving. Sad but true.
