Peeling lips to bleed

It might sound common, as we all peel our lips when they are too dry or their skin is coming off. Generally, when the lips are too dry, we carry the best of lip balms, chap sticks, lipsticks, Vaseline and even waxes etc. And even if one doesn’t get to solve the problem, we are suggested to consume enough water, consume quality diet and take some supplements which help overcome the dehydration and get softer, smoother lips. But don’t you think it represents as a bizarre habit when you just cannot stop yourself from doing it? You don’t want to use a soother or dietary supplement, because you want your lips to dry on purpose? Yes. Rumor has it that the most bizarre addiction is peeling the lips until they bleed and a continued action even after that. Some weirdoes just can’t stop!

Excessive throat clearing

Who doesn’t stammer when anxious or nervous? I know we all do. But I say, what we do is a little “uh… uh… uh’s…” or “aa… aa… aa” or something like that. Or if one is a little too confused or nervous, you just clear your throat a few more times than usual. I think the weirdest; the wackiest and annoying gesture by someone would be the excess of throat clearing. A friend of mine simply wouldn’t stop. They keep on doing it for as long as you start getting an itchy throat yourself. I would say, one should at least at one point of time just give up! But some people just don’t. That makes this excessive throat clearing one of the weirdest addictions here.

Mirror-Mirror on the wall

“I am not what I think I am and I am not what you think I am; I am what I think that you think I am”

Staring at oneself in a mirror is also known as a psychological concept. You stare at yourself and can actually outgrow the interpersonal contradictions, perceptions and even change your social attitude. You look in the mirror and observe yourself. Then by criticizing and even imagining, you get to see how different people might see in you or you see in other people. This and such acts are very normal. But now, if you look at yourself in the mirror more than sufficient, and probably all the time, trust me, that would be insane. Why would you look at yourself in the mirror all the time and never give up?

Shopping

A research conducted by “Journal of Consumer Research” revealed that 9 percent of US population is addicted to shopping. Also know as Omniomania, shopping addiction is most socially reinforced of the behavioral addictions. Suffering from Omniomania, shopping becomes the person’s main way of coping with stress, to the point where they continue to shop excessively even when it is clearly having a negative impact on other areas of their life.A combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and medication can help break the shopping cycle.

Exercise Addiction

Exercise addiction may not sound bad to everyone. Exercise is necessary for our physical and emotional health but, there is such a thing as exercise addiction — and it can have harmful consequences. Exercise addiction is maladaptive, so instead of improving the person’s life, it is causes more problems.
